So, what's this place about!...well, it's about my photography, genealogy and me of course!


Ok, first things first...please, please, please, adhere to the copyright laws, do NOT under any circumstances take/use any of my photos in any way at all with out permission from me...most are available for sale with a relevant licence (see here) so please...do NOT steal! 
Sorry about that but if ya don't make things absolutely clear to some people!
Right, where was i!...oh yeah, this place!

Well, as it says above this is basically the blog of Jan (that be me) and it's home to my Photography and Genealogy work, there'll no doubt be a few rant's a rumination's from yours truly thrown in for good measure though (living with ME/CFS so expect some moaning too) and there'll be snippets from my day in the side bar for you to comment on if you so wish.


My passions in life...photography & genealogy.
Researching the past and capturing the present...or, to put it another way...taking photos and digging up dead folk!
Then there's all the photo editing, writing up all the research, gathering files and photos together, getting it all up loaded online and keeping the blog in order and looking good...keeps me pretty busy but i thoroughly enjoy it all.


I work for pleasure and for profit!...well, a girls gotta earn a living somehow!
So if you want photos taking or you're simply looking to buy photos i've already taken, got a family tree that's needs researching from scratch or just need a hand with the research you've already started...read on!

If ya live local to me and are in need of some quality, affordable photos just click the JanC Photography tab up there across the top of this blog for more information and you'll find all my photos in the galleries over there in the side bar...they're all available for sale too (except the ones in the 'People' gallery) so have a good nosy round.
  • Genealogy...
If it's Genealogy you're interested in and live in the UK click on the Jan's Genealogy tab for more details of how i can help you with your family tree research  and there's links to my own my own family tree work on there too with lots of old family photos being added as i go.
  • Me...
But, if ya've just come to catch up and find out what i'm up to then click on the Just Jan tab, this is where ya'll find those rant's n' rumination's, pics of me (very rare), the moans n' groans and any other day to day life stuff.

And that's about it really, have a nosy round, get the feel of the place and make ya self at home..oh, i'd better just point out (for those that don't know), i'm a born n' bred Yorkshire lass and that means down to earth, plain speaking and the dialect does tend to slip in from time to time ...i type as i talk so to speak!

So, feel free to comment on my individual posts or leave a message on the guest book (or both!) ...oh and enjoy the photos!
